Build pages that work as a system.
DreamPurr is a cat-focused website created for a WordPress course. The assignment centered on building a custom theme with several page types: a homepage, cat listing and detail pages, a blog, a general page, and a 404 page.
My focus was the connection between the interface and the CMS: create consistent layouts while keeping the content separate from the page code.
01 / TEMPLATE STRUCTURE
One theme, several page types.
I built PHP templates for different content needs and used shared headers and footers across the main pages. A listing introduces several cats; a detail page gives one profile more room. Blog content has its own layout.
This structure lets related pages share a layout instead of requiring a separate hardcoded page for every cat or article.

Give each cat a consistent profile.
I registered a custom Cats post type, with gender and color taxonomies to organize profiles. The listing template brings those entries together, while the single-cat template displays the selected profile.
The key decision was to model cats as repeatable content. Adding a profile can use the same template, keeping its presentation consistent with the rest of the site.
03 / CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Make content editable beyond the code.
I used Advanced Custom Fields for homepage content such as banner text and images. The project also included global options for elements such as the logo, footer, and 404 content.
This separated content updates from the template structure. WordPress queries bring published articles into the homepage, connecting the landing page with the blog.

From layouts to a published theme.
I delivered a custom WordPress theme with multiple templates, structured cat content, and editable fields, published as a course website.
The project strengthened my ability to connect UI decisions with implementation: choosing what belongs in a template, what should be shared, and what an editor should be able to change.
What I would improve next: review the full browsing flow on mobile and check how the templates handle long titles, missing images, and empty content.
